Payment Plans

The following payment plans are available:

Single-Pay Plan requires that the payment in full be returned with the contract.

Two-Pay Plan includes a 2% handling fee and requires 60% of the tuition be returned with the contract, with the 40% balance due 11/10/10.

Ten-Pay Plan includes a 5% handling fee and requires a 5% deposit to be returned with the contract. The balance will be paid in ten installments from July 2010 - April 2011.

Charleston Collegiate will continue to partner with Smart Tuition (www.smarttuition.com) to handle tuition collection for the 2010-2011 school year. Smart Tuition offers a simplified approach to tuition collection while providing families with a more organized payment process. The Smart Tuition program is not a loan, so there are no credit checks or user fees.

All enrollment contracts must be accompanied by a tuition deposit (minimum 5%).

Tuition Insurance

This is required for parents choosing the Two- or Ten-Pay plans at a rate of 3.2% of the tuition cost. For parents choosing the Single-Pay Plan, Tuition Insurance is optional. Please contact the School for more details on Tuition Insurance.

Other Fees

Tuition insurance, text books, uniforms and school lunches are purchased by parents, and the cost of these items is not included in the above tuition figures. Please contact the Business Office at 559-5506 x222 for details on these costs.

Financial Aid

Charleston Collegiate School is committed to a student body that is diverse in economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds, as well as in interests and talents. A substantial portion of our budget is dedicated to offer support to students for whom Charleston Collegiate's educational opportunities would not be otherwise available. Currently 38% of our students receive some sort of financial assistance. However, every family in the school has a financial commitment to the education of their children and is required to pay at least 10% of the tuition.

Applying for Financial Aid has no bearing on admission decisions and all financial information is held in the strictest confidence. The application and award process is decided by the School's Financial Aid Committee. A financial award is based on availability and need compared to other applicants. Factors considered include academic and attendance history, behavior, participation in extracurricular activities, and financial situation. No one on the school staff will disclose any information about those who have applied for or received financial aid. Conversely, families receiving aid must agree not to discuss it with anyone.

School and Student Services (SSS) is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and is used by many schools across the US to help assess a family's ability to pay for private education and to help families feel confident that their request for financial aid is being treated objectively and professionally. However, this service does not provide financial assistance.

The Financial Aid Process

1. Request a financial aid application from the CCS Business Office, Admissions Office, OR visit http://sss.nais.org.

Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) on paper or online. Financial information is required of both parents. Charleston Collegiate School Code is 2702.

Paper applications can be mailed to:
School and Student Service by NAIS
SSS PFF
P.O. Box 449
Randolph, MA 02368

2. Submit your current tax return to SSS with cover sheet available on the SSS website or in the paper packet. Requests for aid will no longer be considered without this information.

3. SSS analyzes your information and makes a recommendation to Charleston Collegiate School.

4. The CCS Financial Aid Committee reviews the SSS report and supporting documentation. Please note that the SSS recommended amount is used as a guide but not guaranteed.

5. The Committee's decision is formally communicated to the family with a revised tuition schedule as applicable.

Important Deadlines for the 2010-11 Financial Aid Process
