The following payment plans are available:

Single-Pay Plan requires that the payment in full be returned with the contract.

Two-Pay Plan includes a 2% handling fee and requires 60% of the tuition be returned with the contract, with the 40% balance due 11/05/12.

Ten-Pay Plan includes a 5% handling fee and requires a 5% deposit to be returned with the contract. The balance will be paid in ten installments from July 2012 - April 2013 on the 5th of each month.

Charleston Collegiate will continue to partner with Smart Tuition (www.smarttuition.com) to handle tuition collection for the 2012-2013 school year. Smart Tuition offers a simplified approach to tuition collection while providing families with a more organized payment process. The Smart Tuition program is not a loan, so there are no credit checks or user fees.

All enrollment contracts must be accompanied by a tuition deposit (minimum 5%).

Tuition Insurance

This is required for parents choosing the Two- or Ten-Pay plans at a rate of 3.2% of the tuition cost. For parents choosing the Single-Pay Plan, Tuition Insurance is optional. Please contact the School for more details on Tuition Insurance.

Other Fees

Tuition insurance, text books, uniforms and school lunches are purchased by parents, and the cost of these items is not included in the above tuition figures. Please contact the Business Office at 559-5506 x222 for details on these costs.

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION

Charleston Collegiate School’s mission and philosophy is to provide an excellent academic education to a diverse student body.  We believe that we can attract and support a broader population of students by providing tuition assistance to students who would not otherwise be able to attend our School.  To that extent, our Board of Trustees commits a portion of the operating budget to supplement financial assistance to qualifying families.  Additionally, the school solicits sponsorships from friends of Charleston Collegiate who give generously to support our financial aid and scholarship programs.

Due to the significant number of applications for financial assistance CCS receives, we strictly follow the guidelines below to promote a fair and equitable distribution of financial assistance to those who qualify and meet our deadlines.  All funds will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Parents of students who are awarded financial aid will continue to be responsible for the purchasing of textbooks and uniforms. Exceptions may apply and will be determined on an individual basis. The amount of financial aid awarded may change from year to year based on your financial profile, your child’s academic standing, and the availability of funds.  Please know that all financial aid information is kept strictly confidential unless you choose to make it known.

Criteria for Financial Aid Awards

• A designated and determined need as reported by “SSS by NAIS” (School and Student Services, part of the National Association of  Independent Schools), who as an independent third party reviews all information submitted by parents and sends a confidential Parent Financial Report to the CCS Financial Aid Committee

• Student’s academic performance, conduct, attendance, contributions of service, and participation in extra-curricular activities such as athletics or performing arts

• Parents’ timely payment of tuition and fees, and ability to meet all contractual obligations for current school year

• Timely completion of the financial aid application requirements

Important Dates for Financial Aid Applicants

March 5, 2012:         Results of financial aid applications sent to parents.

Financial Aid Application Process

Following all of the steps below is crucial in order to submit a complete application for the consideration of financial assistance for the 2012-2013 school year. ALL forms and documents should be submitted directly to SSS, not to Charleston Collegiate. Charleston Collegiate’s school code is 2702.

  Visit the website http://sss.nais.org/parents/ and complete the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) online OR request a paper application packet (including PFS) from the CCS Business Office.  The application fee is $42.00. If the applicant’s parents are divorced and/or remarried, all parents / step-parents who are financially responsible for tuition are required to submit their financial information. Online applications are strongly encouraged for immediate processing versus a 4-6 week processing period for paper applications.

  Submit a copy of your 2011 Income Tax Return (Form 1040 and all schedules)* to SSS.  Follow directions on website to submit the forms electronically, or mail copies to SSS along with the Documents Cover Sheet provided on website or in paper booklet. *2011 W2s and/or 1099s will be accepted until your 2011 Tax Return is completed. 2011 tax returns must be received by April 16, 2012.

  Parents who are business owners must also complete the supplemental Business/Farm Statement, also available on the SSS website or in the paper application packet.

  SSS analyzes the applicant’s financial information and sends a report to CCS after verifying the information submitted using the supporting documentation.

  CCS Financial Aid Committee uses the Applicant’s SSS report along with the other criteria outlined above to determine the amount of financial assistance offered. The Committee’s decision is then formerly communicated to the family with a revised tuition schedule as applicable.

  Applicants will then have two (2) weeks to submit their enrollment contract with required deposit for the 2012-2013 school year.
