Two-Pay Plan includes a 2.5% handling fee and requires a 60% deposit with the contract and the remaining 40% by Nov 10th.

Ten-Pay Plan includes a 5% handling fee and requires a 5% deposit with contract, and 10 installment payments which are due on the 10th of each month August through May.

Charleston Collegiate has partnered with Smart Tuition (www.smarttuition.com) to handle tuition collection beginning the 2008-2009 school year. Smart Tuition offers a simplified approach to tuition collection while providing families with a more organized payment process. The Smart Tuition program is not a loan, so there are no credit checks or user fees. We will also use Smart Tuition for the billing and collection of other school-related fees (such as field trips, after school care, tutoring or Saturday School) so every family must enroll.

All enrollment contracts must be accompanied by a tuition deposit (minimum 5%).

Tuition Insurance

This is required for parents choosing the Two- or Ten-Pay plans at a rate of 2.4% of the tuition cost. For parents choosing the Single-Pay Plan, Tuition Insurance is optional. Please contact the School for more details on Tuition Insurance.

Financial Aid

Charleston Collegiate School is committed to a student body that is diverse in economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds, as well as in interests and talents. A substantial portion of our budget is dedicated to offer support to students for whom Charleston Collegiate's educational opportunities would not be otherwise available. Currently 38% of our students receive some sort of financial assistance. However, every family in the school has a financial commitment to the education of their children and is required to pay at least 10% of the tuition.

Applying for Financial Aid has no bearing on admission decisions and all financial information is held in the strictest confidence. The application and award process is decided by the School's Financial Aid Committee. A financial award is based on availability and need compared to other applicants. Factors considered include academic and attendance history, behavior, participation in extracurricular activities, and financial situation. No one on the school staff will disclose any information about those who have applied for or received financial aid. Conversely, families receiving aid must agree not to discuss it with anyone.

School and Student Services (SSS) is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and is used by many schools across the US to help assess a family's ability to pay for private education and to help families feel confident that their request for financial aid is being treated objectively and professionally. However, this service does not provide financial assistance.

The Financial Aid Process

1. Request a financial aid application from the CCS Business Office, Admissions Office, OR visit https://sss.ets.org.

Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) on paper or online. Financial information is required of both parents. Charleston Collegiate School Code is 2702.

Paper applications can be mailed to:
School and Student Service for Financial Aid
SSS PFS (ETS)
P.O. Box 371478
Pittsburgh, PA 15250-7478

2. Submit your current tax return to Charleston Collegiate Business Office. Requests for aid will no longer be considered without this information.

3. Within a few weeks, SSS analyzes your information and makes a recommendation to Charleston Collegiate School.

4. The CCS Financial Aid Committee reviews the SSS report and supporting documentation.

5. The Committee's decision is formally communicated to the family with a revised tuition schedule as applicable.
