The Intermediate Level of the Middle School is for students in grades 5-6. This special grouping of students is designed to ease the often difficult transition from a Lower School self-contained classroom into the Middle School and to meet the specific needs of students at this in-between age. Fifth and sixth grade students begin their day with their advisor who assists them with preparation and organization for the rest of the day's classes and activities. Twice a week, the students also end their day with their advisor to again ensure that they have all of their nightly assignments recorded and all the materials that they need to bring home. Advisors also monitor their academic progress and ensure their social well being. The Academic Achievement Program is also available for students who need extra support in the classroom.
