Read Across America Day at CCS

In honor of Dr. Seuss' Birthday, the National Education Association has declared March 2 (and any other day that week) as Read Across America Day. Schools across the country will be holding reading events and activities, and at CCS the entire school will be engaged in reading at the same time the morning of March 5th.

Nedra Hecker will be meeting with parents for this month's "Coffee with the Head". Please join us in the cafeteria, where the Parents' Association will also be hosting a gently-used uniform sale and used book sale (to benefit the library).
School-Wide Event: City Project Day
March 11, 2010, 11:00am - 3:00pm
On Thursday, March 11, from 11:00am to 3:00pm we will be having our City Project Contest. The school has been divided into ten teams consisting of students from 1st grade through 12th grade and each of these teams has invented a city. The teams will be making a presentation of their city along with a city plan, a banner, a city map, a model representing their city and their city game which all the teams will play. For their presentations, the teams are creating power points, brochures, presentation boards, and promotional videos. In addition, the groups will be feeding themselves the regional dishes that they have invented for lunch that day. Parents are invited to come and observe the contests and see the students' work.
