Welcome back to Charleston Collegiate!
Parents' Association Newsletter:
The 2008-2009 school year is about to begin, and we have already been busy gearing up for the new year. Your contributions and fundraising efforts last year through the Charleston Collegiate School Parents' Association provided many enhancements to our children's school.
A large portion of the money we raised is paying for a much needed upgrade to the current website this summer. The new version will be released before school starts and will allow the school to update the website every day with the latest information, sports scores and activities going on at CCS. The home page will feature a spotlight area that will announce exciting developments and pressing news. The new calendar will list all calendar items for the month and can be sorted by academics, athletics, administrative, and special events. You will also be able to purchase tickets to events, complete an online admission application and enter alumni news.
The P.A. also purchased new picnic tables and benches that are outside the school, and allow teachers to have outdoor classes, students and faculty to enjoy eating their lunches outside, and provide a place for students to sit while waiting for their parents. When you come back to school, you'll see the new food warmers in the kitchen for lunches, dinners and banquet meals. Your participation and hard work have made this possible.
The Parents' Association is a great outlet for you as a parent to get involved with your child's education and provide an exciting atmosphere for your children. As you familiarize yourself with the activities and events, we are asking each parent to PLEASE CONSIDER AT LEAST 20 VOLUNTEER HOURS per semester. YOU are greatly needed to promote the extra activities and events that not only develop and enhance our programs but bring us together as a community and family.
Your excitement and eagerness to be a part of the Parents' Association is greatly appreciated and needed. It's going to be a great year!
