Welcome back to Charleston Collegiate!
The 2010-2011 school year is about to begin and we have already been busy gearing up for the new year. Your contributions and fundraising efforts last year through Charleston Collegiate School Parents' Association provided many enhancements to our children’s school.
By now you will have already seen the new Charleston Collegiate School sign at our main entrance on Plowground Road. This sign enables the Booster Club, the school and the Parents' Association to inform you of upcoming events and important information. Get ready to be amazed by the new playground. The Parents' Association partnered with Charleston Collegiate School to provide our children with a new basketball goal, new swing sets, and a tower with climbing wall, double slide, firemen’s pole and a whole lot of fun. These improvements to the playground with the addition of the fence was a direct reflection of your participation in the Innisbrook wrapping paper fall fundraiser. Your participation at the Annual Rockin’ Roast enabled the Parents' Association to purchase two promethean boards for the middle school Science and History classrooms.
The Parents' Association continues to support two tenth grade scholarships for HOBY Leadership Program hosted by The Citadel. Lower, middle and upper school reading incentives are also sponsored by the Parent’s Association annually as well as the lower school athletics program.
The Parents' Association is a great outlet for you as a parent to get involved with your child’s education and provide an exciting atmosphere for your children. As you familiarize yourself with the activities and events, we are asking each parent to PLEASE CONSIDER AT LEAST 20 VOLUNTEER HOURS per semester. YOU are greatly needed to promote the extra activities and events that not only develop and enhance our programs but bring us together as a community and family.
Your excitement and eagerness to be part of the Parent’s Association is greatly appreciated and needed. It’s going to be a great year!
